Community Plate Program Terms & Conditions
1. The promoter of each of the below Community Custom Plate Programs is the Roads Corporation trading as VicRoads ABN 61 760 960 480 of 60 Denmark Street, Kew, Victoria, 3101 (‘the Promotor’).
1.1 The Promotor will run two Community Custom Plate Programs:
1.2.1 Summer/Autumn – Community Custom Plate Program
1.2.2 Winter/Spring – Community Custom Plate Program
1.3 By entering one of the Community Plates Programs, you’re agreeing to these T&Cs.
2. Who can enter?
2.1 Entry is open to all residents of Victoria, except employees (and immediate family members of employees) of VicRoads and its associated agencies including Regional Roads Victoria (RRV). (‘Entrant’)
2.2 Joint entry is not accepted.
3. Program Periods
3.1 The Program Periods are:
3.1.1 Summer/Autumn – Community Custom Plate Program: Commences at 12:01AM Australian Eastern Daylight Time on 1 March 2019 and closes at 11:59PM Australian Eastern Standard Time on 31 May 2019.
3.1.2 Winter/Spring – Community Custom Plate Program: Commences at 12:01AM Australian Eastern Standard Time on 1 June 2019 and closes at 11:59PM Australian Eastern Standard Time on 30 November 2019.
3.2 Only correctly completed entries deemed by the Promotor to have been received during the Competition Period in accordance with these T&Cs are eligible to be judged. (‘Eligible Entries’)
3.3 The Promotor does not accept responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected applications.
3.4 The Promotor is not required to provide notice to any entrant that an entry is not an Eligible Entry.
4. How to enter
4.1 Visit vplates.com.au/community-plates, enter your details and submit your answer to the following question (in 500 words or less): ‘Tell us why you would like a custom plate for your organisation and how you plan to use it.’
4.2 At the time of entry, the entrant must nominate a charitable, benevolent, religious or community organisation to receive the Prize in the event that their entry is chosen as the winning entry. The Promotor may, at its absolute discretion, require the nominated charitable, benevolent, religious or community organisation to provide evidence of their status, to the Promotor’s satisfaction, before being permitted to redeem the Prize.
5. Prize and notification
5.1 The dates that each program will be judged:
5.1.1 Summer/Autumn – Community Custom Plate Program: the Promotor will judge the applications on 14 June 2019 at 60 Denmark Street, Kew, Victoria, 3101.
5.1.2 Winter/Spring – Community Custom Plate Program: the Promotor will judge the applications on 13 December 2019 at 60 Denmark Street, Kew, Victoria, 3101.
5.2 The winning entry for each program will be the entry that is deemed by the Promotor to be the most creative answer to the question submitted during the relevant program period.
5.3 The Prize for the deemed winning entry for each Community Custom Plate Program, outlined above, is a Custom Plates voucher to the value of $495.00 to be used towards the purchase a custom number plate at the vplates.com.au website (‘Prize’).
5.4 Standard terms and conditions for the purchase of custom number plates apply as published on the vplates.com.au website. In addition to the standard terms and conditions, the Prize may only be redeemed by the charitable, benevolent, religious or community organisation nominated by the entrant at the time of entry. The Promotor may, at its absolute discretion, refuse to allow the nominated organisation, or any other person or entity from redeeming the Prize.
5.5 The Prize for each Community Custom Plates Program is supplied by Custom Plates (which is a division of the Promotor).
5.6 The Promotor’s decision is final.
5.7 The winner will be notified on the date that program is judged as set out above (as applicable).
5.8 The winner will be notified by the email address provided by the entrant at the time of entry.
5.9 If the Promotor cannot contact the winner or the winner doesn’t respond within 7 days, the Prize will be given to the next best judged entry submitted.
5.10 In accepting the Prize, the winner agrees that he/she is a permitted and valid entrant and has agreed to these T&Cs.
5.11 The Promotor does not accept responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prize. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable. The Prize is not redeemable for cash and must be taken as offered.
5.12 If the Prize is not available, the Promotor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or similar value.
6. Information for Winner
6.1 The program winner accepts the Prize on behalf of a nominated charitable, benevolent, religious or community organisation. If accepted, the Prize may be posted, sent or delivered directly to the nominated organisation (if all other T&Cs have been complied with and satisfied in the view of the Promotor).
6.2 The Promotor may require a representative from the nominated organisation and/or the program winner to attend and participate in a media event arranged by the Promotor for the purposes of handing over the Prize or the Custom Plate redeemed by the nominated organisation.
6.3 All entrants agree to provide the Promotor with identification and/or proof of age (if requested to do so).
6.4 Any costs incurred for taking the Prize (i.e. transport or transfers) are not included.
6.5 The Prize must be taken as a whole. Elements cannot be taken on different days/times.
6.6 The winner agrees that as a result of winning the program she/he is not an employee, contractor, associate or affiliate of the Promotor and may not hold herself/himself out as such without the written permission of VicRoads.
6.7 A nominated charitable, benevolent, religious or community organisation that receives a Prize is not by virtue of receipt of a Prize from the Promotor, contractor, associate or affiliate of the Promotor and may not hold itself out as such without the written permission of VicRoads.
7. Personal Details
7.1 By entering the Program the entrant has agreed to receive marketing material from VicRoads, its contractors and partners, including Custom Plates.
7.2 The Promotor is collecting your personal information for the purpose of the transaction you are conducting. This information may be used or disclosed as authorised or required by the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Road Safety Act 1986 (Vic). VicRoads may disclose personal information it collects from you to various organisations, including our contractors, or people authorised to collect and use personal information held by VicRoads. Some of these organisations and persons may be located outside of Victoria, and as a result, your personal information may be transferred outside of Victoria.
