2019 Valentine's Day Competition

Competition Entry Terms & Conditions 

1.   Competition and Promoter

1.1. By entering the ‘Custom Plates 2019 Valentine’s Day Competition’, and in consideration for the opportunity to participate in the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by and observe these Conditions of Entry. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these Conditions of Entry.

1.2. The Promoter of the Competition is the Roads Corporation trading as VicRoads ABN 61 760 960 480 of 60 Denmark Street, Kew, Victoria, 3101 (Promoter).

1.3 This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook and Instagram. 

2.  Who may enter?

2.1. Subject to paragraph 2.2, entry into the Competition is open to all residents of Victoria aged 18 and over.

2.2. Employees (and immediate family members of employees) of the Promoter are not eligible to enter the Competition.

2.3. The Promoter will not accept any joint or duplicated entry.

2.4 Each eligible person may enter the competition multiple times.

3. Competition Period 

3.1. The Competition commences at 12:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Thursday 14th February 2019 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on Thursday 21st February 2019 (Competition Period).

3.2. Entries not received during the Competition Period or not completed in accordance with these Conditions of Entry will not be eligible to win. Entries are deemed to be received at the time they are received by the Promoter and not at the time of submission by the Entrant. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise.

4.  How to enter

4.1. By entering the Competition, entrants agree to the Competition Terms & Conditions. Entry into this Competition is only available by posting an image on our Facebook post or by posting an image to the entrant’s Instagram account and by tagging @vplates and using the hashtag #vplatesvday

4.2. Entrants are required to use Facebook and/or Instagram to enter. 

This promotion is a game of skill. 

For Facebook, entrants must:

  • Like the Promoter’s Facebook page found at the link https://www.facebook.com/viccustomplates/
  • Find the competition post (dated 14 February 2019) and comment on the post with your response to: “Show us how much you love your car”

For Instagram, entrants must:

  • Follow the @vplates Instagram page found at the link https://www.instagram.com/vplates/
  • Have a public Instagram account that is viewable by @vplates – (The Promoter cannot see the entry if the entrant’s profile is set to Private)
  • Post an image on Instagram in response to “Show us how much you love your car”, tag @vplates and use the hashtag #vplatesvday

Text may be used to support entries on both Facebook and Instagram entries.

5. Prize and notification

5.1. At the end of the Competition Period, all entries will be judged by the Promoter and one entry will be declared the winner.

5.2. Judging will be conducted by the Promoter on Friday 22nd February 2019 at 60 Denmark Street, Kew, Victoria, 3101. The winning entry will be the one judged by the Promoter to be the most creative image to the question “Show us how much you love your car”

5.3. The entry deemed the winner by the Promoter in accordance with these Conditions of Entry will win one (1) Custom Plates voucher valued at $495.00. 

5.4. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any and all aspects of the Promotion is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5.5. The prize winner will be notified by Facebook or Instagram message on Friday 22nd February 2019 as a response to the winning entry. 

5.6. In the event that the winner judged by the Promoter is not contactable by the Promoter, or the winner does not respond to the notification that he or she has won the competition or provide an address for written notification by 3:00pm AEST Tuesday 26th February 2019, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to the next best judged entry submitted.

5.7. The prize is supplied by VicRoads Custom Plates located at 60 Denmark Street, Kew, VIC 3101. 

5.8. In accepting the prize, the Winner agrees to accept the prize through Registered Post. 

5.9. The maximum total prize value is AU$495.00

5.10. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable. The prize is not redeemable for cash and must be taken as offered.

5.11. In the event that the prize is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.  Where the prize is substituted the Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to provide a substitute prize to the satisfaction of the winner.

6. Information for Prize Winner

6.1. All entrants agree to provide the Promoter with identification and/or proof of age if selected as a prize winner. The form of identification and/or proof of age are at the discretion of the Promoter. 

6.2. The Winner agrees that they are responsible for redeeming the gift voucher in person at their selected VicRoads Customer Service Centre. 

6.3.  The Winner accepts that the gift voucher has a twelve (12) month expiration date from the time of issue. 

6.4. Travel incurred and all other ancillary costs incurred as a result of redeeming the voucher (including, without limitation, transport to and from a VicRoads Customer Service Centre) are not included and remain the responsibility of the winners.

7. Consent to collection and use of Personal Details 

7.1 By entering the Competition and supplying the details as required, the Entrant agrees that the Promoter collecting and using his/her personal information for the purposes of contacting the Entrant about Custom Plates and any marketing or programs associated with Custom Plates.
