Custom Plates and VicRoads are committed to protecting your privacy. Any personal information collected, handled, stored or disclosed about you through our services shall be managed in accordance with the principles of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and the Privacy Act 1988.
Personal information is “information or an opinion (including information or an opinion which is on a database), whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion”.
This collection notice explains how VicRoads handles the information we receive about you when you engage with us to enter the Custom Plates 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final Tickets Competition.

What information we are collecting
The information you give us by entering the Custom Plates 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final Tickets Competition will include your personal information, being your first name, surname, email address and telephone number.
Why we are collecting your information
We collect and use your information when it is necessary to fulfil our functions or engage in related activities, such as to facilitate your participation in the Custom Plates 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final Competition and to collect any information required to administer it or provide services associated with it.
We collect and use your personal information to:
- process your competition entry, to determine whether you are eligible for entry into the competition
- to judge all eligible competition entries
- contact you by phone or email (if you’ve been judged as the competition winner) to advise that you are the competition winner and that you’re required to confirm your identity
- manage delivery of the prize by the Australian Football League (if you are judged as the competition winner) for:
- the 2 tickets to the 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final which is fulfilled by the Australian Football League
- the $695 Custom Plates gift voucher which fulfilled by VicRoads
- add your personal details to the Custom Plates mailing list in the event you’ve opted-in to join the Custom Plates mailing list and received marketing communications by Custom Plates
- we may also collect and/or use your information if we are required to cooperate with law enforcement authorities, if we are authorised to do so by law, or to comply with the law.
Anonymity
We respect your choice to remain anonymous, and you may interact with us anonymously where it is lawful and practicable for you to do so. However, sometimes, it may not be possible for us to provide information, deal with a complaint or perform other functions unless we can identify you.
Our competition form sets out the information we need from you and may contain mandatory fields. You will not be able to submit your entry without providing all the relevant information.
Consent
By entering the Competition and supplying the details as required on the Competition entry form, you agree to the promoter collecting and using your personal details for the purposes of contacting you about the outcome of, or any marketing activities or programs associated with the Competition in accordance with your consent provided.
Who we share your information with
Your information may be shared with VicRoads employees and the Australian Football League to fulfil your 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final ticket prize, MailChimp to send email updates to customers, and others who need access to it as part of their duties for the reasons set out above, or otherwise where permitted by law.
We use Mailchimp to send email updates to customers who have signed up for them. We only provide Mailchimp with email and name data, to enable it to customise emails. Mailchimp is based in the USA. The information is held by Mailchimp on servers in the USA, and may be provided to third parties in certain circumstances. If you agree to join the Custom Plates list and opt-in to receive marketing communications, you are consenting to the use of Mailchimp and to the transfer of your personal information to servers held overseas.
