Conditions of Entry
1. Competition and Promoter
1.1. By entering the ‘Comedy Festival x Custom Plates Competition’ (Competition) and in consideration for the opportunity to participate in the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by and observe these Conditions of Entry. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these Conditions of Entry.
1.2. The organiser and promoter of this Competition is Custom Plates, a division of the Department of Transport ABN 69 981 208 782 of 60 Denmark Street, Kew, Victoria, 3101 (Promoter).
1.3. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Ltd (ABN 43 006 697 918) of 240 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 is the Co-promotor of the Competition (Co-promotor).
2. Who may enter?
2.1. Subject to paragraph 2.2, entry into the Competition is open to all residents of Victoria aged 18 and over.
2.2. Employees (and immediate family members of employees) of the Promoter and its associated agencies are not eligible to enter the Competition.
2.3. The Promoter will not accept any joint entry.
2.4. In these Conditions of Entry, an entrant is an eligible person who completes and submits a Competition entry form via the Competition webpage (Entrant).
3. Competition Period
3.1. The Competition commences at 12.00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Wednesday 26 February 2020 and closes at 3:00pm AEST on Monday 9 March 2020 (Competition Period).
3.2. Entries not received during the Competition Period or not completed in accordance with these Conditions of Entry will not be eligible to win. Entries are deemed to be received at the time they are received and uploaded to the Competition webpage and not at the time of submission by the Entrant. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise.
4. How to enter
4.1. By entering the Competition entrants agree to these Conditions of Entry. Entry into this Competition is only available through the Competition webpage, vPlates 2020 Comedy Festival Competition.
4.2. To enter this Competition, you must complete the Competition entry form by providing your name, contact information and answer the following question: “How would you express yourself with a custom plate and why?"
5. Prize and notification
5.1. At the end of the Competition Period, all entries will be judged by the Promoter and the top three entries will be selected.
5.2. Judging will be conducted by the Promoter on Tuesday, 10 March 2020 at 60 Denmark Street, Kew, Victoria, 3101. The top six entries will be the entries judged by the Promoter as providing the most creative answer to the question “How would you express yourself with a custom plate and why?” These entries will then be ranked Winner (1st place), Runners up (2nd place) and Second runners up (3rd place), Third runners up (4th place), Forth runners up (5th place) and Fifth runners up (6th place).
5.3. The entry deemed to be the Winner (1st place) by the Promoter in accordance with these Conditions of Entry will win a $495 Melbourne International Comedy Festival gift voucher and a $495 Custom Plates gift voucher. The total prize value is $990.00.
5.4. The entry deemed Runners up (2nd place) by the Promoter in accordance with these Conditions of Entry will win 4 double passes (8 tickets) to attend the performance of a selection of Festival presented shows, as well as entry to the Festival Club. The value of each double pass is approximately $100. The total prize value is approximately $400.00.
5.5. The entry deemed Second runner up (3rd place) by the Promoter in accordance with these Conditions of Entry will win 4 double passes (8 Tickets) to attend the performance of a selection of Festival presented shows. The value of each double pass is approximately $70.00. The total prize value is approximately $280.00.
5.6. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any and all aspects of the Competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5.7. The prize winners will be notified by phone or email on Wednesday, 11 March 2020.
5.8. In the event that any of the prize winners selected by the Promoter are not contactable by the Promoter, or if any of the winners don’t respond to the notification that he or she has won a prize in the Competition by 5:00pm on Friday, 13 March 2020, the Promoter reserves the right to award that prize to the next best entry in that prize category as judged by the Promoter.
5.9. The prizes described in these Conditions of Entry are supplied jointly by the Promoter and Co-promotor in equal amounts.
5.10. In accepting the prizes, the prize winners agree that the Promoter is not involved in supplying or delivering the prize at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (Festival) and therefore has no obligation or duty to the prize winners in relation to the prize.
5.11. The maximum total prize values are:
- Winner (1st place): A Festival gift voucher and Custom Plates gift voucher with a total value of AU$990.00
- Runners up (2nd place): 4 double pass tickets to Festival events valued at AU$400.00
- Second runners up (3rd place): 4 double pass tickets to Festival events valued at AU$280.00
(together, the Prizes)
5.12. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prizes. The Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. The Prizes are not redeemable for cash and must be taken as offered.
5.13. In the event that any of the Prizes, or any part thereof, are not available for any reason, the Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, substitute the Prize(s) or any part thereof, with an item of similar value.
6. Information for Prize Winners
6.1. All Entrants agree to provide the Promoter with identification and/or proof of age if selected as a prize winner. The form of identification and/or proof of age are at the discretion of the Promoter.
6.2. The Prize winners agree to comply with these Conditions of Entry, and any attendance conditions to the events at the Festival available at https://comedyfestival.com.au/ and displayed at entrances to events at the Festival.
6.3. The Prize winners agree to comply with the Comedy Festival Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions available at Comedy Festival Gift Vouchers.
6.4. The prize winners agree to comply with the Comedy Festival Ticketing Terms and Conditions available at Comedy Festival Terms and Conditions
6.5. Spending money, meals and all other ancillary costs incurred as a result of taking the prize (including, without limitation, transport to and from an event at the Festival, airline and/or airport taxes and transfers, where applicable) are not included and remain the responsibility of the winner. All elements of the Prize must be taken to coincide with an event at the Festival and any element not taken at the time(s) stipulated will be taken to be forfeited.
8. Personal Information Collection Statement
8.1 Custom Plates (State of Victoria) is collecting your personal information for the purpose of the transaction you are conducting. This information may be used or disclosed as authorised or required by the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). Custom Plates may disclose personal information it collects from you to various organisations, including our contractors, or people authorised to collect and use personal information held by Custom Plates (State of Victoria). Some of these organisations and persons may be located outside of Victoria, and as a result, your personal information may be transferred outside of Victoria.
