Seven Reserve Auction – Terms and Conditions

Bidders must register online with Heritage Only to participate. Representations of plates are for illustration purposes only; final products may vary slightly. VicRoads is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any of the persons, car manufacturers or other organisations whose name, image or brand may be depicted in the custom number plates (or any associated advertising).

VicRoads Custom Plates reserves the right to withdraw any depicted plate combination from the auction without notice.

Personal information collected from bidder registrations will be processed by Heritage Only in accordance with their privacy policy.

These terms are additional to Custom Plates Terms of Sale and the Heritage Only Auction Terms and Conditions.

Special Conditions for Winner’s Choice Lot

The following additional terms and conditions apply to Lot 12 – Winner’s Choice

1. Overview

The winning bidder for Lot 12 – Winner’s Choice (Winning Bidder) will have the right to purchase registration number rights in relation to a 7-character registration number of their choice (Selected Combination), and to be issued with two (2) number plates bearing the Selected Combination, to be supplied in any of Custom, Prestige or Deluxe plate styles.

2. Selected Combination Requirements

The Selected Combination must comprise 7 alphanumeric characters in any of the following formats:

  • All Alphabetic: eg. AAAAAAA
  • All Numeric: eg NNNNNNN
  • Separator Format: eg. ABC.1234, AB.12345, A.123456 or similar etc.
  • Custom Alphanumeric Mix: A1AAAAA (or similar).

3. Restrictions

The Selected Combination must not:

  • Be a combination already offered at auction (regardless of whether earlier lot was sold or passed in)
  • Contain inappropriate, offensive, or prohibited words or combinations
  • Include symbols, emojis, images, or non standard characters
  • If All-Numeric, start with '0' or consist solely of '0's
  • Contravene VicRoads’ standard guidelines for custom plate combinations

4. Notification of Selected Combination

The Winning Bidder must within seven (7) days from the date of the auction notify VicRoads in writing of the following:

  • The Selected Combination; and
  • The format (Custom, Prestige or Deluxe style) and colour of the number plates to be issued to the Winning Bidder.

The Selected Combination is final once confirmed by VicRoads.

5. Publicity

VicRoads reserves the right to include the Selected Combination in public announcements regarding the auction and Seven Reserve number plates generally, provided that VicRoads will not publish any information potentially identifying the Winning Bidder without prior consent.

Special Conditions applying to all Lots in the auction

Bidders acknowledge and agree that under the Terms of Sale, VicRoads may cancel registration number rights if it believes the rights were acquired unlawfully or dishonestly, if the display of the number is prohibited by law, if the registration number rights / custom plates are used, displayed or dealt with in a manner that infringes third party rights (including intellectual property rights) or in breach of laws (including the Australian Consumer Law) or certain other obligations have not been complied with.
